Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy

You don’t need to be fixed or made more “normal.” I focus on helping you better understand your nervous system, reduce burnout, honor your needs, and build a life that works for your brain.

Service introduction

Many neurodivergent people (ADHD, ASD, AuDHD) grow up in environments that expect them to function in ways that don’t match their nervous systems, which can lead to burnout, overwhelm, masking, and chronic exhaustion.

Therapy can be a space to understand how your system actually works, not to override it, but to build ways of living that fit you more accurately. Even without a formal diagnosis, many people recognize themselves in these patterns.

You might be here because...

  • you feel chronically overwhelmed or exhausted, even when life ‘looks manageable’

  • social situations require masking or self-monitoring that leaves you drained

  • you move through cycles of burnout, shutdown, or emotional overload

  • starting, organizing, or completing tasks feels harder than it “should”

  • sensory input, emotions, or environments can feel intense or difficult to filter

  • everyday expectations often feel like too much to hold

These are not personal failures. They are often signs of a nervous system adapting to environments that were not designed for it.

What to expect

We work together by understanding your nervous system in a way that is practical, embodied, and usable in daily life.

This may include:

  • noticing patterns of overwhelm, shutdown, or hyperfocus

  • building awareness of internal signals before they become too intense

  • understanding how capacity actually works in your system (not how it “should” work)

  • developing rhythms, structures, and supports that reduce burnout

  • exploring task paralysis, emotional regulation, and recovery patterns

  • strengthening self-trust in how you move through the world

This is not about fixing you. It is about building conditions where you are not constantly overriding yourself.

Session format

Sessions are collaborative, paced, and responsive to your attention, energy, and sensory needs.

We may work through conversation, reflection, parts of experience, or practical problem-solving around daily life.

Some sessions are insight-oriented. Some are slower and more sensory or body-based. Some focus on structure and support for real-life challenges.

Over time, many clients develop a clearer understanding of what supports their regulation and begin to apply that outside of therapy in sustainable ways.

Options

Outdoor Sessions:

When helpful, we may also meet outdoors.

In these sessions, we can directly work with sensory experience in real time, such as temperature, sound, movement, visual input, and body position.

This might include adjusting pacing, sitting, walking, resting, or orienting to the environment in ways that support regulation.

These experiences often become reference points for how to listen to and respond to your needs outside of session.

Session Length:

I offer 50 and 90 minute sessions.

Longer sessions allow more time to slow down, notice internal shifts, and reduce the pressure of rushing toward closure.

We can decide together what supports your system best.
