Talk Therapy and Somatic Therapy in Seattle
My Seattle therapy practice combines talk therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and somatic approaches to support adults and teens working through trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, identity exploration, eating disorder recovery, and those seeking a more embodied way of healing.
Who I Help
I work with adults and teens navigating anxiety, trauma, eating disorder recovery, and chronic stress. Whether you're still functioning on the outside or feeling completely overwhelmed, shut down, or burnt out, individual therapy Seattle sessions can help foster confidence and steadiness in meeting these challenges. This includes LGBTQ+ clients and neurodivergent individuals seeking affirming, attuned care.
About Serena
My name is Serena Stark (they/them). I am a therapist Seattle WA clients turn to for telehealth and outdoor therapy in the Washington Park Arboretum.
My style is warm, evidence-based, and depth-oriented. I blend insight-oriented talk therapy with somatic awareness, relational understanding, nervous system care, and practical support to help therapy create meaningful change.
I believe distress makes sense in context, and healing happens through safety, attunement, and reconnecting with your own internal wisdom.
Credentials:
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) — Washington State
Master of Social Work (MSW) — Columbia University
Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Science — Oregon State University

Services
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I offer several pathways into talk and somatic therapy depending on what you're navigating and how you work best.
My Approach to Therapy in Seattle
I understand distress as something that makes sense in context, not as a personal failure. What looks like anxiety, shutdown, overwhelm, or disconnection may once have been wise forms of protection.
My work helps you build greater capacity to notice your internal experience, respond with steadiness, and feel more choice in how you move through life. I integrate thoughtful talk therapy with body (somatic) awareness, nervous system regulation, and practical support.
Across trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, eating disorder recovery, and identity exploration, I focus on creating safety, attunement, and meaningful change at a pace that truly lasts.
Therapy with me is collaborative, nuanced, and grounded in real-life integration rather than quick fixes.
Outdoor Therapy
Sessions outdoors offer a grounded, accessible form of nervous system regulation therapy, using the natural environment to help settle overwhelm and build resilience.
Many people find it easier to breathe, think clearly, or speak honestly when they are not seated across from someone in an office. Gentle movement, fresh air, and the natural environment can support nervous system regulation in ways conversation alone sometimes cannot.
Outdoor therapy blends psychotherapy with the grounding support of nature. Available in Seattle's Washington Park Arboretum.
Why This Work is Different
Many therapy spaces focus only on insight.
Insight matters, but lasting change often requires attention to the nervous system, the body, relationships, environment, and the conditions shaping your life.
My work brings together insight and body-based approaches, so healing becomes something you can feel, not just something you can understand or explain.
