LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy
Therapy can be a place where your identity is explored, played with, and affirmed in all of its forms. Together, we can navigate relationships, trauma, family dynamics, medical transition, and living more fully as yourself.
Service introduction
Queer identity can be expansive, fluid, joyful, uncertain, political, embodied, and deeply personal, sometimes all at once.
Therapy can offer space to slow down and listen to what feels true in you, especially when external expectations, internalized messages, or past experiences have made that harder to access.
My approach is grounded in feminist and anti-oppressive frameworks, and centers your lived experience as the authority on who you are.
I work with LGBTQ+ clients across the lifespan, including trans and gender-expansive youth and adults. I also provide support with gender-affirming care, including surgery documentation when clinically appropriate.
You might be here because...
want to feel more at home in how you exist and express yourself
are questioning or reshaping your understanding of gender or sexuality
feel pressure to define yourself before it feels fully true
are navigating coming out, transition, or shifting relationships
are working through family, cultural, or religious expectations
are tired of editing yourself to stay safe or accepted
want queerness to feel lived, not just named
You do not need clarity or certainty to begin.
What to expect
This work often moves between insight, emotion, embodiment, grief, relief, humor, and recognition.
We may look at how family, culture, relationships, and systems have shaped what you learned you were “allowed” to be, and what parts of you had to stay hidden, minimized, or carefully managed.
We also make room for what emerges when there is less pressure to perform identity correctly.
For many people, this includes grief for what wasn’t possible earlier, and relief in no longer having to split themselves into acceptable and unacceptable parts.
Over time, clients often experience greater self-trust, more ease in expression, and a sense of identity that feels lived rather than managed.
Session format
Sessions are collaborative and responsive to what feels most present.
We may focus on identity, relationships, embodiment, communication, family dynamics, or the impact of past experiences on how you relate to yourself now.
Telehealth and outdoor sessions are available.
I also provide letters and referrals for gender-affirming care when clinically appropriate.

You do not need to become someone new. This can be a space for becoming fully in contact with who you already are and who you are becoming.
